Over the last few months I have been approached by a number of local companies who are wanting a quality pool of temporary staff which they are able to tap into during busy periods, when other staff are on holiday, or are away due to ill-health.

There are a number of people currently on the jobs market who are keen to work flexibly for various different reasons.  This could be a career gap due to redundancy (and to add, there is quality talent out there!), returning to work after time off, and more recently I have noticed an increase in candidates wanting to work hours on their terms who are putting real value on  their work-life balance.

We are all different and everybody’s ideal work pattern is different.  Some people like to work 9-5pm, but working on a temporary basis locally can offer far more options.  9-5pm with a commute can often mean additional  hours on your day (unpaid), the cost of travel and that dreaded ‘rat-run’.  In Harrogate and surrounding areas there are some really successful companies who work extended office hours.  This can mean working far more flexibly.  It could be you have other commitments, prefer working in the evenings, or before normal working hours, and, in my opinion, it means your time is your own!
